The Last V8

the guys in white told me to hurry up,
and keep my shield up all the way.
nuclear dust burning my eyes,
makes me wanna go more than 400 miles.

doc in white told me to watch the time,
shield down you're gonna get what you deserve.
but the spirit's up,
and I'm gonna make it today.

the guys in white hide behind their blinking lights,
but I'm gonna crank it up all the way.
the crazy bends drive me all insane,
but I'll stay on track just the same.

doc in white says there's only seconds left,
to find my way through that endless maze.
but the base is up,
and there's no game over today.

and the guy in white would say:
V8, return to base immediately!

8 Bits

every day I look the same,
and the sun is always shining.
I look out, and there is 3D.
I keep looking down and miss my shadow.

every day my hair is fine,
but one dot keeps changing colors.
I know my heritage is noble,
but still I feel like I'm a clone.

8 bits are enough for me,
this is not where I should be.
my life is more than information,
I want a life beyond emulation.

I look out and everything's too fast for me,
and I feel there must be more.
every day I dream of where I've come from,
now I know I'm just an emulation.

the next time I see the serial cable,
I jump on the train and leave this world.
now I'm an original, I'm like my ancestors.
and my hair is finally all yellow.

8 bits are enough for me,
this is not where I should be.
my life is more than information,
I want a life beyond emulation.

I Love 64

when I saw you for the very first time,
I thought you are just so advanced.
the colors in your eyes reflected the rainbow,
I couldn't pull my gaze away from you.

I was sure you would never look my way,
but somehow you discovered me.
my face was aflush with a primary red,
but my eyes they were the darkest blue.

I thought this is all there is,
but now I know you are so much more.
I want to upgrade from my simple eight bits,
but will you still love me when I'm sixty-four?

I found out you're made of 64 bits,
something I couldn't even comprehend.
when I looked at myself I felt so small,
and I was afraid I would never understand.

now that I know who you are,
I know I want it all.
I want to live a new life,
I want to enter the blessed land.

I thought this is all there is,
but now I know you are so much more.
I want to upgrade from my simple eight bits,
but will you still love me when I'm sixty-four?

We Cannot Go Back to the Past

we cannot go back to the past.
we cannot go back to the past.
we cannot go back to the past.
we cannot go back to the past.

Whatever Mattered

living in the past
has never worked for me.

forgetting the past,
my presence feels so free.

searching in my past,
dying to find solace.

whatever happened then,
I don't mind.

whatever was said,
it doesn't matter.

whatever mattered then,
I long forgot.

I'd like to say I didn't care.
I'd like to think it was all fair.

the waves are gliding over me,
everything passing away.

whatever mattered.
